Abstract
Van Driest's theory, which provides a continuous velocity and shear distribution for turbulent flow near a nonporous wall, is extended to turbulent flow near a porous wall. The new, modified theory enables the theoretical calculation of velocity profiles to be performed for a wider range of mass- transfer rates, and it gives good agreement with experimental data. Keywords
