Abstract
School acceleration was recommended in 20 of 45 cases of idiopathic sexual pre cocity, and carried through in 12 of those cases. The accelerated children all were academically successful. School acceleration is recommended as part of a more general program of accel erating social development, in order to help the precocious child bridge the gap between chronologic age and physique age. A high IQ facilitates acceleration, but an average IQ does not necessarily forbid it. The child's own effort to achieve and a favorable parental attitude are important. School authorities in some places do not understand the nature of the problem and refuse to cooperate. Keywords
