Abstract
Sorption data are presented for cotton mercerised without tension for regains up to 28.6 mg/g at 25–65°C. The results are examined on the basis of a theory due to Enderby, the requirements of which appear to be satisfied by mercerised cotton and Fibro viscose rayon, but not by cotton itself. The isotherm equation for the Cellulose II fibres takes the form where A is the amount absorbed, P is the pressure, and a, b, c are constant at a given temperature. Keywords
