Abstract
The birth weights of some 150 rhesus monkeys born between 1955 and 1962 at the Wisconsin Regional Primate Center were examined. Apart from sex, the most important determinant of birth weight detected was mother''s parity. It was possible to exclude year of birth and age of mother as major determinants. An analysis of data corrected for parity did no more than suggest a maternal effect.
