Platelet Monoamine Oxidase in Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract
Platelet monoamine oxidase activity using the phenylethylamine substrate was significantly (37%) elevated in patients with Alzheimer's disease as compared with controls in a similar age range. There was no significant increase in monoamine oxidase activity toward the tryptamine substrate.Keywords
