Internal-fusion diagrams forp¯pannihilation

We investigate $\overline{p}p$ annihilation into $\overline{B}{B}^{\prime }$ (where $B$ and $B^{\prime }$ represent baryons) via $\overline{q}q$ annihilation into $\overline{Q}Q$ (where $q$ and $Q$ represent quarks). Specifying the $\overline{q}q$ (or $\overline{q}Q$) annihilation spin structure determines the ratios of all polarized amplitudes with $B$, $B^{\prime }$ from the 56 under SU(6). We propose to parametrize $\overline{q}q\to \overline{Q}Q$ by intermediate gluon and meson states. The model with $\overline{q}q\to \mathrm{one}\mathrm{gluon}\to \overline{Q}Q$ with $Q=s$ is worked out in detail. With the exception of $\overline{p}p\to {\overline{\Sigma }}^{-}{\Sigma }^{*+}$ + charge conjugate, it compares favorably with experiment.
