Abstract
A new hemostatic agent which can be applied locally on diffuse bleeding of the dura or of the brain was used in 12 cases on the dura mater, 6 on cerebral traumatic laceration, 15 in astrocytomas grade III and IV and 2 in cerebral AVM [anteriovenous malformation]. This new material is made of sheets of natural collagen and is resorbable. The same kind of material is used in the USA under the name of Avitene. The results have been very encouraging when compared to the use of oxycel. The results may be more striking when a powder is added to the sheet. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
