Abstract
The young of the goldcrest have a relatively low growth rate (K = 0.409) and a long nestling period (mean, 19 days), very similar to the development pattern found in hole-nesting species. This strategy probably reduces the daily energy expenditure of the parents, thus enabling them to rear 2 relatively large broods each year. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
