Abstract
The cluster expansion techniques of Mayer and Abe are applied to a calculation of the exact equilibrium s‐particle distribution function for a classical electron gas in a positive background. The radial distribution function is found to be well approximated by the Boltzmann factor for a Debye—Hückel potential. Corrections to the Debye—Hückel expression are discussed. A simple approximation for the s‐particle correlation function is given in terms of a three‐fold integral. Keywords
