Abstract
The new genus PSEUDOTULASNELLA, found by the author in Guatemala, has partially septate basidia and is considered to be intermediate between the Tremellaceae and the Tulasnellaceae. In view of the evidence presented, it seems likely that evolution in this group has taken place in the direction of loss of basidial septation. The only other genus of Tremellales known to have partially septate basidia is Metabourdotia, which is reinterpreted as belonging to the Tremellaceae. So considered, it provides a significant link between the sebacinoid and tulasnelloid basidia, through Pseudotulasnella. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
