Ground-Water Pollution Near a Landfill

Abstract
Evaluation of existing landfills, particularly those with the potential to affect public water supplies is a necessary but often time-consuming task. A study is described in which sampling wells, test borings, electrical resistivity, and computer models were used. The importance of integrating all geohydrologic data, the usefulness of trend surface analysis, surface resistivity measurements and computer modeling, and the value of specific conductance as a pollution indicator are emphasized.
