Abstract
The predictions of the large mass limit for radiative decays of known -wave charmed mesons are analyzed. Special attention is devoted to the problem of gauge invariance of the transition matrix elements. The width ratios arising from heavy-quark symmetry are given for the different multipole components. Finally, some estimates for the rates of these decays are given, using the constituent quark model of Isgur, Scora, Grinstein, and Wise.
