Abstract
When an amino acid soln. in 6% NaCl (containing cystine, proline, asparagine and glutamine) was applied to the cornea of guinea pigs injured by a 2 mm. vertical erosion or rabbits which had been injured with deep non-perforating trephine wound in the cornea, recovery was much hastened as compared with that in the control eye which was treated with physiologic saline. A similar beneficial effect was noted in both spp. treated with a boric acid ointment when the amino acid was also added to such an ointment. Keywords
