The Introduction and Establishment of Dusmetia sangwani on Antonina graminis in South Texas

Abstract
An encyrtid parasite, Dusmetia sangwani Rao, was introduced from India during March and April 1959 and was found established on Rhodes-grass scale, Antonina graminis (Maskell), at 11 south Texas locations 16 months later. Some 1136 parasites were screened through quarantine and 55,354 were reared in the laboratory and released at various locations. A mixture of royal jelly and honey was selected as a standard diet for laboratory propagation. Introduction shipments were provided the Republic of Mexico and the State of Arizona.
