Abstract
Palmar plate resection arthroplasty of the PIP joint, a new technique for operative treatment of destroyed PIP joints, is presented. By combining palmar plate arthroplasty with a flexor tenodesis a stable arthroplasty with adequate active motion can be performed. It can be used even in severely destroyed joints and still provide adequate post-operative stability and motion. Exercise can be started early. Keywords
