Abstract
The authors studied the records of 17 patients with an identified limb length discrepancy as well as subjective musculoskeletal symptomatology. All of the candidates were evaluated by means of the Electrodynogram system for a determination of forces occurring through the foot at various phases of the gait cycle. Force sensors wer applied to each foot in the same location to register forces generated between the foot and the ground. A one-quarter inch heel lift was then added to the foot on the shorter side and the test repeated. The data obtained were analyzed to determine biomechanical differences between the foot on the longer limb versus the shorter limb, and to evaluate the effect of a one-quarter inch lift placed in the shoe on the shorter limb side. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
