Abstract
In an attempt to test the efficacy of the use of the Wechsler-Bellevue in a psychiatric setting, the subtest performance of 60 subjects from 9 different psychiatric groups was intercorrelated and factor-analyzed. The resulting analysis yielded two factors, neither of which isolated the subjects in terms of psychiatric variables. In light of these results, it seems apparent that the Wechsler-Bellevue does not yield significant data as regards psychiatric diagnosis, and continues to sort subjects in terms of intellectual factors only. Keywords
