Abstract
More than 4000 named varieties and Lycopersicon plant introduction accessions were evaluated for disease reaction to 1 isolate of X. campestris pv. vesicatoria, causal agent of bacterial spot of tomato. None of the accessions displayed a symptomless reaction to spray inoculation, but differences in symptom severity were observed among genotypes. Several lines with high levels of resistance were identified.
