Abstract
Considerable differences betweenpercentage depth dose values reported by different authors are mainly due to the difficulties associated with surface dose measurements, and can largely be eliminated by choosing a reference point below the surface. The adoption of 5 cm deep for this point is suggested, and a modified output calibration procedure, based upon it, is proposed. Keywords
