Abstract
Summary A general survey of Wegener's syndrome including the definition, etiological factors, symptomatology and pathologico-anatomic findings. Six new cases of W. S. (4 men and 2 women 28—64 years) are reported and discussed with a more detailed description of two of them. Special attention has been given to ocular symptoms and diabetes insipidus. The rapidly fatal progress of the disease as reported in the literature must be reconsidered, since three of the present cases have followed a more favourable course at least as regards the duration; two patients are still alive after 27 months, and one patient after 11 months, from the first appearance of the disease. Steroid therapy may have contributed to the favourable course. Keywords
