Abstract
Divorce is examined as a psychological and legal process. Etiological factors believed to be contributing to divorce and the psychological sequelae of divorce are critically explored. Legal issues surrounding court based interventions, the impact of the "no-fault" law, and the role of lawyers reviewed. The role of mental health professionals, lawyers, and courts in a divorce are discussed in terms of individual contributions as well as interdisciplinary "team" approaches.
