Abstract
In this survey Holmes reviews the evidence that the point-to-point relationship between the retina land visual cortex is functional, and modifiable. The pseudo-fovea of hemianopia and the false macula of strabismus may take over some functions of the macula. The striate cortex is the receptive element of vision. Visual agnosias of several kinds result from lesions in the neighborhood of the striate cortex. Absolute localization in space is an extracalarine function. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
