Abstract
Nine rats were given glu-tamic acid in their diet, 150 mg. for 14 wks. and 250 mg. for the next 26 wks. They were compared in general level of performance with 8 control rats. The apparatus was a series of floor plates passing from 1 to 10 or more levels for the animal to obtain food. All but one of the glutamic acid group passed the 3-plate level, compared with only 25% of the control group. One rat of the former group even mastered the complex 4-plate and 5-plate settings. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
