Abstract
The electrophoretic study of an antigenic extract of C. albicans, cultures on Sabouraud's glucose peptone, emphasised its almost exclusive content of glycoproteids with very few protein bonds. The antigenic analysis of the extract by double diffusion in agar gel showed the presence of 7 fractions, of which 5 were identical with those from cellular extracts previously studied. The 2 specific fractions which were found during our previous studies are not among the 5 which are identical. One of the 2 fractions peculiar to the substances excreted in the culture medium, proved to be specific for C. albicans, at least within the limits of these experiments which covered 7 species of the genus Candida (C. albicans, C. stellatoidea, C. tropicalis, C. zeylanoides, C. krusei, C. macedoniensis, C. pseudotropicalis). Keywords
