Abstract
An etching procedure for revealing dislocations intersecting the three crystallographic surface in manganese ferrites is developed. Different etchants were used for different crystallographic surface. Etch-patterns are observed on {100} and {110} surfaces etched in 10% H2SO4 with zinc powder and on {111} surfaces etched in hydrochloric acid. Etch-patterns of manganese ferrites best plastically at 1350°C are investigated by this etching technique. It is concluded that the slip planes of manganese ferrites are {110} with Burgers vectors. Keywords
