Abstract
The detailed characterization and high-resolution mapping of 9 herpes simplex virus type 1 mRNA encoded in EcoRI fragment I are described. Of these mRNA, 4 are partially colinear and encode the same sized polypeptide in vitro. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the DNA around the 5'' ends of these mRNA suggested that the larger may encode a small (.apprx. 100 dalton) polypeptide not resolvable by in vitro translation. This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
