Abstract
1-Methyl-2-isopropyl-5-nitroimidazole, ipronidazole, is useful in the treatment of swine dysentery and histomoniasis in turkeys. A major water-soluble metabolite of ipronidazole was isolated from the feces of bile-cannulated rats. This metabolite was identified by spectroscopic and chemical methods as 2,3-dihydro-2-(2-hydroxypropyl)-3-methyl-4-nitro-1H-imidazol-5-ol.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
