Abstract
The renal Na+/K+‐ATPase and the gastric H+/K+‐ATPase both contain α‐ and β‐subunits. We report here the identification and partial purification of a second population of the β‐subunit of the gastric H+/K+‐ATPase, which has no accompanying a‐subunit detectable by Coomassie blue staining or by Western blotting with monoclonal antibodies specific for the α‐subunit.
