Abstract
The sex chromosomes of 3 strains of D. miranda were studied. In 18 cells in Olympic-1 [male][male], a sex-chromosome multivalent occurred. The results are essentially the same for Whitney-60 and Big-Basin-2 an unequivocal sex chromosome trivalent being the rule at diakinesis, prometaphase and 1st metaphase. Early anaphase consistently shows X1 and X2 alike disjoining from Y. Such directed segregation of 3 chromosomes which come in contact at metaphase is not uncommon but remains unexplained. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
