Abstract
A method is described for calibrating a type of rheological shear apparatus previously discussed in the literature. The technique is based on the use of precision elastic rings whose compliance can be predicted theoretically, and thus avoids the use of standards whose viscoelastic properties vary with frequency, temperature, pressure, age, etc. Applicability of the method presented here is foreseen in calibrating rheological systems other than the sinusoidal shear equipment for which the technique has been developed and proved. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
