Abstract
How do receptor tyrosine kinases hold their kinase activity in check until the receptor is activated by its ligand? As Schlessinger explains in his Perspective, receptor tyrosine kinases have evolved several elegant mechanisms to keep kinase activity at bay until the receptor binds to its ligand. Keywords
