Abstract
The reaction of C5H5Pt(2-RC3H4) (R = H, CH3) with PdL2 (L = P(i-C3H7)3, P(c-C6H11)3) in the molar ratio of 1:1 produces the binuclear complexes (μ-C5H5)(μ-2-RC3H4)PdPtL2 in which the metal atoms have the formal oxidation state + 1. Based on the 1H, 13C and 31P NMR spectra it is assumed that the structures of the new complexes are analogous to those of the corresponding Pd2 and Pt2 compounds but that they contain a heterometallic palladium-to-platinum bond. The synthesis and the spectra of the bis(allyl) complex (μ-2-CH3C3H4)2PdPt[P(i-C3H7)3]2 are also reported.
