Abstract
A method for the analysis of small quantities of mixtures of carbon tetra-fluoride, hexafluoroethane, and fluoroform based on measurement of the intensity of infrared absorption bands is described. The relation between pressure and optical density for the main absorption bands of each gas was determined and used to calculate the composition of synthetic mixtures. These results were compared with those obtained by mass spectrometric analysis.
