Abstract
Can be activated by Eu (III) to give an efficient red emitting phosphor under cathode‐ray and under 2537Aå excitation. This phosphor has optical properties which indicate its possible use as the red component in color television screens. Unfortunately, during tube fabrication, the phosphor decomposes to The main cause of this deterioration has been found to be hydrocarbons which are present during tube manufacture. Keywords
