Abstract
An improved method of preparing C. burnetii natural phase II antigen of high purity enabled its staining for use in the microagglutination reaction (MAR). The antigen was as specific and sensitive for detection of phase II antibodies as the artificial phase II C. burnetti antigen prepared by periodate treatment from purified phase I cells of C. burnetii.
