Injury to the diaphragm and its repair during laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Abstract
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy has now become the “gold standard” for the treatment of gallstone disease. Parallel with the conversion from the open to the laparoscopic technique, some complications peculiar to the laparoscopic approach have been experienced. Such a technique-related complication, resulting in an injury to the diaphragm and its repair during laparoscopic cholecystectomy is presented.
