Abstract
The herbicides, 2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid (MCP) and 4-(2-methyl-4-chloro-phenoxybutyric) acid (MCPB) were fed to cows and found to be secreted in the urine using electron affinity gas chromatographic analysis of the nitrated herbicide derivatives. Within experimental error, MCP appeared to be completely eliminated in the urine of the cow which was fed 5ppm MCP. Two animals receiving 2.5 and 5 ppm MCPB eliminated, respectively, 9.2 and 7.2% of the herbicide fed in the form of MCP in their urine. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
