Abstract
A method of separation of the unsaponifiable matter of marine animal oils has been developed, using the technique of flowing chromatography. Four fractions were obtained by the successive use of light petroleum, methylene chloride, ethyl ether, and methanol with a column of alumina. On the basis of these studies, the hypothesis is proposed that the substances occurring in any one fraction are of similar chemical structure. Keywords
