ROLE OF ADRENAL CORTEX IN LIVER REGENERATION

Abstract
Simultaneous removal of the adrenals impaired the restoration of liver protein in rats following 70% hepatectomy. Admn. of whole adrenal extract restored the regeneration of new hepatic protein to normal. DCA, 11-dehydro-corticosterone acetate and 17-hydroxy, 11-dehydrocorticosterone, at the dose levels used, also returned hepatic protein regeneration to normal or above.
