Abstract
In brief: Torso injuries can occur in many sports, especially those involving acute deceleration or impact. They are divided into two main areas: thorax and abdominal injuries. Superficial injuries are obvious, but visceral injuries are harder to diagnose. The author discusses diagnosis and management of these injuries, and stresses a thorough examination—preferably in a quiet, unhurried environment—before resumption of competitive activity. Keywords
