Abstract
The association of postural hypotension with sympathetic nervous system dysfunction and other diseases of the nervous system is reviewed. A case is reported which showed neurologic features of brady-kinetic type of Parkinsonian syndrome. In association, there was a marked degree of postural hypotension. Pharmacologic studies showed a marked lack of sympathetic tone, and the patient obtained most relief from symptoms in a combination of drugs which produced sympathetic stimulation (ephedrine or benzedrine), combined with para-sympathetic inhibition obtained by drugs of the atropine group. Keywords
