Abstract
A study on host preference of P. argentipes [vector of kala-azar] in 2 different biotopes was conducted by capturing the flies from cowsheds and human dwellings. The human blood index of P. argentipes collected from cowsheds was 21.5% and 69.6% when collected from human dwellings; this indicates that host preference of P. argentipes varies widely in different biotopes.
