Abstract
6-Amino-4-hydroxy-1-methylpyrimidine-2(1H)-thione, as well as its 5- nitroso and 5-amino derivatives, reacts with hydrazine to yield 4- amino-5-hydrazino-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol and (4-amino-5-mercapto-1,2,4- triazol-3-yl)acetohydrazide as common products. A preliminary reductive sequence C5-NO → -NH2 → -H is indicated.
