Abstract
Even though traumatic arteriovenous fistulas are uncommon, they pose a confusing problem in diagnosis and management when they occur. A case report is added to a review of 7 other cases reported in the literature in which the arteriovenous fistula followed gynecologic or obstetric procedures. The etiology of traumatic and congenital types is discussed, and the signs and symptoms of pelvic arteriovenous fistulas are reviewed. Because of the local and systemic complications that may occur secondary to these lesions, prompt removal is essential. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
