Abstract
A patient with cutaneous leishmaniasis was successfully treated with metronidazole. The dosage used was 250 mg three times a day, and the drug was given for two ten-day periods with an intervening rest period of ten days. In view of the report in 1967 (which seems to have been ignored in the literature) on the successful use of metronidazole in 30 cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis, further evaluation of this drug is indicated. Keywords
