Abstract
Herein, we report an investigation on the use of a new derivative of 1,8-naphthalimide containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole for the fabrication of organic light emitting diodes. The 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety facilitates the injection of electrons from the cathode of aluminium, and the 1,8-naphthalimide moiety acts as an emitting centre. Green–yellow electroluminescence peaking at 532 nm, which can reach a luminance of 225 cd m -2 at an applied voltage of 27 V, was observed. The maximum luminous efficiency is 0.43 lm W -1 at 19 V.Keywords
