Abstract
To the Editor: Stage IV-S is a unique subcategory of neuroblastoma. Unlike the other disseminated form of this childhood cancer (Stage IV), Stage IV-S disease has a very good prognosis (higher than 85 per cent survival) and a high frequency of spontaneous regression.1 Stage IV neuroblastoma has been associated with particular chromosome abnormalities. Of over 30 tumors and cell lines whose karyotypes have been reported by others or analyzed by us (Gilbert F: unpublished data), all but 3 contained a marker chromosome 1 (with deletions/rearrangements involving the short arm distal to band p31) or one or both of the cytologic . . .Keywords
