Abstract
The application of fetal and neonatal pigs to research has led to a number of advances in perinatal biology and medicine. Baby pigs have been utilized in diversified areas of biomedical research, including embryology, teratology, nutrition, metabolism and immunology. They have also found use in the study of several pathologic conditions, both spontaneous and iatrogenic, that occur in the human infant. Copyright © 1974. American Society of Animal Science .
