Abstract
Arginyl-arginine was prepd. by partial hydrolysis of clupeine methyl-ester HC1 with 50% sulfuric acid, the dipeptides isolated and precip. with flavianic acid. This procedure yielded a large amt. of arginyl-arginine and higher dipeptides rich in arginine. The flavianate crystallized after several hrs. and was purified by repeated crystallization and fractional precipitation. Starting with the arginine flaviate the dipi-crate, dipicrinolate and a dibenzoyl derivative were formed. The arginyl-arginine was fermented by dipeptidase but active trypsin was ineffective. Arginase and dipeptidase split only one of the 2 guanidine linkages and therefore only 1/4 of the N was freed. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
