Abstract
The author uses the coagulation of milk as a measure of peptic activity. Fluorides and iodides inhibit markedly the coagulation of milk by "pepsin." Chlorides and bromides accelerate this reaction up to a certain optimal concentration, above which they increase slightly the coagulation time. This optimal concentration is about 0.07M for the alkali metal chlorides and 0.05-0.15M for the alkali metal bromides. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
